WHAT IS CORRECT PUPPY SOCIALISATION

Socialisation is a part of essential learning for your new puppy, your puppy needs to learn how to be comfortable in our human world.

This involves all different sets of social skills, how to greet people and other dogs, how to settle quietly when your busy and how to cope and adapt to all sorts of real life situations.

Puppy socialisation is not just about letting your puppy play with every dog he meets.... well not unless you want him to play like this all the time anyway !!

Some behaviours are learnt through play but most are not, your puppy is not born with self control. So we have to reach him.

Socialisation is just a small part of your puppies learning. We want to train for life!

Some of the skills you will learn at our puppy classes are,

1, meet and greet politely.

2, leave and ignore distractions

3, settle in the home and busy places.

4, how to be calm and comfortable being groomed and handled

5, sit for attention, no jumping up.

6, retrieve things to you and give them up to you

7, appropriate playtimes

8, wait and stay patiently

9, recall

10, loose lead walking

Pet Gundog Classes

£30

Training with Lynne is fun, well structured, and at the same time focused and educational. With Ascot Gun Dogs Lynne has established superb facilities within Scotlands’ area of Fife.
Not every dog is a ‘working’ dog, often it is primarily a pet, as is the case for Lynne’s dogs; pet first, working gundog second. Hence, she will understand your situation and can offer you gundog training from grass roots level all the way through to competitive or shooting day standard.
Three decades in sports coaching combined with the deep knowledge gained during the studying for the Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor course, gives Lynne a wide range of knowledge and experience. So, whether you are a first-time dog owner or already a more advanced dog handler with a new puppy, Lynnes’ coaching skills and passion to pass on her knowledge will soon enhance your relationship with your dog.
Lynne approaches instructing with a great fun element but a clear focus at the same time. Her style is pretty unique and Lynne is able to help you train at any level or any age of dog. Lynne will supply the same enthusiasm whether it is the very first puppy in your life, the long wanted well-behaved shooting companion on the peg, and pretty much every other level of trained dog in-between.
The training facilities you will find at Ascot Dog Training are superb, and the general grounds can be extended into the Lomond Hills. Gundog group training follows the well-structured Pet Gundog program with optional assessments at the end. If you can’t commit to a group individual lessons are also possible. If you don’t even own a Gundog but still want a well-behaved dog, Lynne also offers general obedience training.
